What ever your mode of transport you cannot help but be delighted with the North York Moors, Dalby Forest, Go Ape, Eden Camp, Pickering Steam Railway, Flamingo Land, Whitby and Scarborough, York (half an hour by train or car) and the National Railway Museum

The Church at Pickering, a nearby market town is 2 miles away has 15th century murals thought to be the finest in England, also in Pickering the Beck Isle Museum of Rural life stands by the river two minutes walk from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway that runs from Pickering Station through the beautiful steep wooded scenery of Newtondale and over the moors to Goathland and Grosmont.

There are many superb walks in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park where you will see spectacular scenery such as the Mallyan Spout near Goathland
