Things to do & see around Thornton le Dale

Thornton-le-Dale lies on the the southern edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

Thornton-le-Dale with its interesting buildings, pleasant walks beside the beck and many footpaths offers an idyllic setting for a short break or longer stay

This picturesque English village has a beck running alongside the main street and the village stocks and market cross are still in existence on the small village green. The village is well served with three pubs, bistro, varied gift shops, newsagent and post office.

Ideally situated for touring the area either walking on foot over the numerous foot paths, riding a mountain bike through the off road tracks in Dalby Forest or following the Moors to Coast cycle route. If you want to try your hand at 4*4 off road driving then the Langdale Quest (a 4*4 off road driving centre) set on the edge of Dalby Forest is the place to go. >>more
